Israel deserves support because the Jewish people deserve a secure national home and the ability to shape their own future. The Zionist project, understood as the movement for Jewish national self-determination in the Jewish historical homeland, addresses a legitimate human aspiration: to live as a people with political agency, cultural freedom, and protection from persecution.
